Capcom used the Nintendo Direct stage yesterday to bring two classics from the Ace Attorney series back into focus, which are now appearing in a modernized form.
Capcom announced the comeback of two classics from the Nintendo DS era with the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection at yesterday’s Nintendo Direct. In the new collection, both Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth and Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor’s Gambit will be released in a new guise – not only for the Switch, but also for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (Windows, Steam).
There is also already a release date: From September 6, 2024, you can once again investigate diligently, examine crime scenes and question witnesses. Thanks to the backward compatibility of the current Xbox and PlayStation consoles, this will also be possible on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Pre-orders are now being accepted for all platforms; those who decide early will receive five specially arranged music tracks as a bonus.
In the first spin-off, you control Edgeworth as he uses his investigative skills to uncover the truth. In the second part, even greater challenges await you as Edgeworth faces new evils in the midst of a campaign for his future as a prosecutor.
Capcom promises the following improvements for the new collection compared to the original DS games:
-
Verbesserter In-Game-Look & Feel: new HD graphics designed by the series’ original character designer, smoother character animations and richer facial expressions with the ability to switch between new and classic sprites
-
History functions: This way, you won’t miss even the smallest detail – players can revisit conversations and examine them for clues they may have missed before.
-
Story-Modus: Thanks to the updated story mode, players can delve even deeper into each case as the game runs automatically and the story progresses.
-
Gallery mode: A jam-packed catalog of illustrations, character animations, accolades and soundtracks, including sketches, promo artwork and all 106 in-game background tracks including 23 orchestral recordings, one all-new track and five arranged tracks from the original Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth.
-
In-Game-Soundtrack: The game can be played with either the original soundtrack or the five newly arranged tracks. The “arranged” soundtrack can be selected via the options menu.
