The second season of The House of the Dragon, despite not meeting the expected number of viewers, has shocked many fans after Cheese and Blood’s assault on Jaehaerys Targaryen and his children. Although the scene is not as harsh as in the books, it is still quite disturbing.
Well, to prevent the youngest actors in the series from seeing these murders, the showrunner from the series has explainedalong with the actor behind Queso, the tactics they executed during the filming of this sequence so that the children suffered as little as possible from the consequences seen in the series.
Ryan Condal: “We knew we were going to have to work hard to get kids that young to act; having kids that age, I’m intimately familiar with all of that. Plus, there are things you can and can’t expose kids to in a movie set. If we tried to faithfully represent that story, we would have trouble getting a child’s interpretation from every angle. A lot of times it looks like the child is going through it, but you use clever cuts and intercut shots.”
Mark Stobbart: “We were standing around a crib with a doll. It’s a lot more shocking to see than you can imagine, but in the grand scheme of filming, it was like any other job.”
Just as they say County and Stobbart, they also have children of that age and know very well that no parent would like to see their children experiencing these types of situations at such a young age. Luckily, they took the necessary measures so that young people would not see such a scene.
The House of the Dragon It has started with clear intentions. Although the audience has not been as expected, the reviews have been positive. There are still seven episodes to be released to resolve this macabre situation, in addition to a third season already confirmed by HBO.
