We bring you the final round of statements from the president of Nintendo of America, Doug Bowser, about the actuality nintendera. These come again from his recent encounter with the Polygon medium.
This time Bowser has shared a few words about the expansion of their IPs in projects such as the Super Nintendo World amusement park. We leave you with your comments:
It’s an important part of Nintendo’s strategy – we want to share our intellectual property with as many people around the world as possible. And not everything is directly through our video game experiences. Some of them may be through our entertainment experiences. So I think you’ve seen each other, recently, we announced with Universal Studios in Japan that we will open Super Nintendo World in February next year in Osaka.
So that’s one of the ways that we can really share Nintendo’s stock, in our immersive worlds and our IPs, with consumers who may not be playing video games today. Or through some of our licensed activities, like some activities we’ve done with Levi’s or LEGO or Puma, and all of those touchpoints allow us to expose people to the fun that is Nintendo and the smiles that Nintendo offers.
It’s this opportunity to create incremental touchpoints and introduce Nintendo to people around the world who may not be playing video games today, or may not even have access to video games today. And that can be through experiences like Universal. It may be through experiences like movies, that we have a project that we have announced with Illumination Studios; it can be through our mobile content; but with the aim of continuing to incorporate them into our dedicated experiences in the videogame ecosystem.
What do you think?
