Riot Games, the indispensable studio behind League of Legends, VALORANT, Teamfight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra, has just released its new game: League of Legends: Wild Rift. This is the mobile version of League of Legends available on iOS and Android. You play as one of the game’s 49 unique champions in 5v5 player clashes. With your friends or your solo, the community of gamers awaits you for frenzied games in the world of Runeterra! To help you get started with the game, we’ve put together the perfect guide to help you dive right into the rift.
In Wild Rift, the map is divided into two parts, one for each team. To win, you must destroy the nexus in the enemy base and defend your own. They’re on both ends of the map and they’re always shown next to yours. There are three paths available to reach your destination, each protected by six towers. Three on your side to obviously defend and three on the opposing side that you have to kill. To help you, minions – aggressive little creatures – appear regularly on each of the alleys, trying to destroy towers or even enemy heroes. Defeating minions is your first source of gold, a very valuable resource for purchasing equipment and upgrading your champion during the game. By giving these minions the coup de grace, you will get maximum gold. Champions and rooks also give you a sizeable sum that shouldn’t be neglected.

Unique champions
49 champions are available and offer you a unique experience. With the tutorial you can unlock a first character to choose between Jinx, Garen, Blitzcrank, Ahri and Master Yi. The following will be automatically unlocked while playing. It is also possible to get them for a few dollars! Every champion has its own characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. Take some time to explore them all and find the ones that suit you best!
Champions are divided into 6 categories (Assassin, Fighter, Mage, Shooter, Support and Tank) with different roles. The jungler is the most versatile role. He faces the monsters of the jungle and helps his team by intervening wherever he is needed. An assassin, fighter or tank champion is ideal for this. Always play archer in the dragon’s path for maximum damage and assist him to heal or protect. A dragon appears early in the game and you need to help your jungler defeat it! The middle lane is the hunting ground for assassins and mages, while a tank or fighter usually takes care of the baron’s trail. At the end of the game, the entire team joins the jungler to attack Baron Nashor.
Upgrade your champions with items and runes
Runes are bonuses that you select before starting the game. They grant various effects that your heroes enhance as you wish.. Choose the Conqueror Rune to do more damage to champions, or the Rune of Life if you’d rather support your team.
As mentioned earlier, eliminating minions, heroes, or towers can give you gold coins. Use them to buy different items as you progress through the game to empower your hero and adapt to any situation. For example, Jinx, who is a shooter champion, takes full advantage of Runaan’s Hurricane, a physical item that her ranged attacks can use to hit 3 targets. And if your enemies heal too much, a champion with magical damage will choose the Morellonomicon item so that its damage will, for example, reduce the enemy’s healing.
Tutorial and advanced principles
To help you get started, There are 9 tutorials available to teach you how to handle the game. On the program, you will learn the principles of moving with the tactile joystick, locking targets, operating towers and minions. You will also discover how to play on each of the lanes and in the jungle. The latter is located between the alleys and is filled with various monsters to be slaughtered for gold and various benefits.
One of the keys to progress is knowing when to attack, defend, or retreat. Do you see an ally destroying a tower? Don’t leave him alone and help him! Bushes are present around the tracks and will hide you from the opposing team. This is great for an ambush! When your enemies start a major offensive, protect yourself under your tower which will attack them automatically and defend yourself with your companions. At the end of the game you and your allies have to face the mighty monster named Baron Nashor. Destroy it and collect powerful bonuses for your team to lead the final attack. Be careful though, only the last hit counts and a ruthless enemy might try to steal it from you when their life is in full swing. So always pay attention to it.
