What are capellix LEDs?

Last year Corsair introduced its Capellix LED light system, with Corsair Dominator Platin RGB RAM at the head of the display. These are LEDs very little that the standard LEDs we have today on almost all devices (in comparison, their size is 0.2 mm2 compared to 2.8 mm2 for standard LEDs) and, as a result, allow for the creation of much more illuminated light fixtures and sinks.

To accomplish this, Corsair in conjunction with Primax (as technology has co-created) completed the diode layer, allowing the lower layer to interact directly with the PCB, which has already not only reduced size but also created light 60% with lightwith 40% less usage of energy and 35% longer life expectancy compared to standard RGB LEDs.

Capellix LEDs are used in PC cases

What Corsair has shown now is a new concept of lighting using this type of LEDs, but instead of integrating them into boxes themselves, what they've done is create. sheets are transparent and very soft where you combine these LEDs to create light areas with three-dimensional appearance, because they are designed to be so glued to warm glass panels of PC cases. By the way, on these sheets have never seen the connection wires between LEDs.

The bad part of this new concept is wiring, because even though it doesn't appear on paper it is much more complex than that of a conventional LED strap. They did not give much details about it, but we understand that this means that plain sheets will be made for certain models of boxes and nothing else, we cannot cut them as it happens with LED strings for example.

For now Corsair has not provided a release date or price for this new product, and in fact mention that they are still considering whether to include it in specialty boxes they already have in the market (which, in our opinion, is most likely), if they will buy it as a separate product, or if they leave it for future product launch.

In any case, it seems like there's still time for any of these three options to happen, but it still seems a very interesting idea and one we will definitely see, because since Corsair has only one patent for the Capellix LED it is obvious. that they will want to exploit you while the competition does not.
