Bethesda is responsible for creating two of the best RPGs of the past decade, and possibly history. We are talking about Fallout 4 and Skyrim, two video games that are still played today on almost all platforms, and which serve as a reference for many current games.
Much of this success is due to the community of modders it’s behind that, and it’s that there are genuine “anonymous” artists who have created content of the same quality as the original work. Not only are there mods that add content, and there are others that help or improve the performance of both video games, and precisely thanks to them we can enjoy Skyrim and Fallout 4 at 60 fps on Xbox Series X | S.
These mods prevent us from achieving achievements in Skyrim and Fallout 4
The curious thing is that these were designed for the original Xbox and their goal was to remove the fps lock. That, coupled with the backwards compatibility features of the Xbox Series X, makes RPGs look better than ever. Although it might sound a bit strange, the games got even better framerate on Xbox Series S because it runs the Xbox One S version with a better GPU (already 1080p, of course).
Microsoft has already announced that it will update Fallout 4 to run at 60 fps, but for now, this mod option is working quite well. Of course, you have to keep in mind that by activating the mods you won’t be able to unlock any achievements. We leave you with a video of Digital foundry where you can see how well both perform at 60 fps:
