Keiichiro Toyama and his new team started working on the creator’s next project.
Toyama KeiichiroThe Japanese creator, known for the “Silent Hill”, “Sirens” and “Earth Heart” series, revealed some tidbits about the creations he will invest in the next few years.
Toyama (along with some other Sony Japanese developers) recently left PlayStation to form Bokeh Game Studio, and revealed his new project in an interview with IGN.
This unnamed new project will be a horror action-adventure game with “combat and story elements” that will “attract fans of my previous work.”
“If anything, it will be more like a horror game. But we will focus on making it a broader entertainment experience, rather than a hardcore horror game.” He explained.
The game is currently in the early development stage for multiple platforms and is expected to be released in 2023. “We are developing with PC as the leading platform, but we hope to release the game on as many console platforms as possible,” Toyama confirmed.
However, don’t expect too many new games (if any) for now. If the 2023 release target did not give you any hints, Kazunobu Sato, the co-founder of Bokeh, clarified to IGN that the game is “in the process of prototype development”.Having said that, the studio plans to regularly share regular updates of its new albums Twitter page.
The acclaimed creator added that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of another Japanese legend Fumito Ueda, who also founded GenDesign independently a few years ago.
Bokeh’s team is “quite huge” and already includes many of Toyama’s long-term collaborators, such as Siren and Gravity Rush level designer Junya Okura, Siren and The Last Guardian producer Kazunobu Sato, and other Sony Japan studio veterans.
