Video Game Fireplace Christmas Logs: Enjoy these Hades and Pokémon inspired fires

For those of us who live in homes with no fireplaces, the next best thing is to sit by the hearth of a long, repetitive video on Netflix or YouTube. Luckily, game developer Supergiant Games created an all-day Christmas log based on their hit game Hades – which happens to be Polygon’s pick for Game of the Year 2020.

You can enjoy Supergiant’s House of Hades Christmas Protocol – no less in 4K! – straight from YouTube. It offers 12 hours of uninterrupted crackling animated fire, complemented by wreaths of pomegranates and golden skulls. Underworld sounds really help raise the mood.

It’s a nice change of pace from the Fireplace for Your Home series available on Netflix – I’m a Birchwood Edition guy myself – and a nice ambience when you play Hades in handheld mode on your switch.

Alternatively, there is also something warm and Pokémon-infused Charmander’s chimney slumber. The Pokémon Company released this ASMR video earlier this year, letting viewers enjoy the soothing sounds of a campfire and Charmander’s indelible tail. (Though Charmander’s Fireside Slumber sounds more like a spreading forest fire than a chimney in a refrigerated cabin, which I find less relaxing.)
