Despite a tumultuous 2020, Genshin Impact has managed to make waves with its release as a free-to-play RPG. Many fans have liked the game’s open world mechanics and anime-inspired design elements, and the title has taken home some major awards and nominations this year.
More recently, it appears that miHoYo has broken a YouTube milestone, with the official Genshin Impact channel garnering over a million subscribers. In celebration of this milestone, and a new global forum site, miHoYo announced a special event aimed at awarding a potential bonus to a large number of players.
This special event hosted by Paimon appears to be accessible only through the miHoYo fan forums, so if players haven’t been there yet, it might be time to create an account. Forums are most popular with Chinese language players and are generally used to communicate news and tips about the game. So far, there have been no major events exclusive to the forum.
Now that the Genshin Impact Fan Forum has a new multilingual version, Genshin Impact’s mascot Paimon invites travelers to a grand prize. The draw is straightforward, and each player who signs up will have a chance to win 50 Primogems. This is not a large amount, but the competition is easy to enter and costs nothing. Players can head over to the Forum and leave a comment containing their platform and user ID.

There will be 1,000 participants randomly chosen to receive the free First Gems, but if more than 100,000 participants enter the drawing, a total of 10,000 winners will be selected. This pattern will continue for every 100,000 participants (so 20,000 winners will be selected once 200,000 people sign up, for example). Only one entry per UID is allowed, and players must have their in-game accounts linked to their miHoYo accounts.
The total number of participants will be considered the sum of all participants in all language sections of the forums, so it is to be expected that players can at least achieve breaking the first participation milestone. While this 50 Primogems prize alone isn’t stellar, players currently have other avenues to obtain free Primogems, including promo codes. With these combo, it is more than possible to get a handful of free character summons. Players can also check out the new “Battle Chronicle” feature on the fan forums, which provides detailed game statistics.
Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
