The signs had already increased, but in the meantime it has also been officially confirmed: Sony is not participating in the E3 in Los Angeles this year either. But what about Microsoft?

In the run-up to the official confirmation by Sony itself, insiders and renowned analysts had reported that it cannot be assumed that Sony and the PS5 will be honored at this year's E3 2020 in Los Angeles. Sony had already skipped the US trade fair for good reasons in June last year, but even the upcoming launch of the PS5 could not persuade the company to return.
The E3 2020 therefore still has to do without one of the largest players to date, but what about the competition? Microsoft is also launching a next-gen platform with the Xbox Series X in 2020 – and unlike Sony, it will very well present it at E3 2020.
Our team is hard at work on E3, we look forward to sharing with all who love to play what's ahead for us. Our artform has consistently been propelled by the cross-section of creativity and technical progress. 2020 is a milestone year in that journey for Team Xbox. # XboxE3 # E32020

Shortly after the Sony cancellation, Xbox boss Phil Spencer spoke up on Twitter to confirm that Microsoft had still planned to participate in E3 this year. The own E3 plans are therefore still large.
"Our team is working hard on E3 and looks forward to sharing what lies ahead with everyone who loves to play," said Spencer. It also says that "2020 is a milestone year on Team Xbox's journey" and, accordingly, great things can be expected from the industry fair in June.
Microsoft also had an extensive E3 program in 2019 – despite Sony abstinence – since an extensive press conference or media showcase. Accordingly, the 2020 appearance is anything but surprising, especially due to the upcoming launch of the Xbox Series X.
