New Year’s Eve without fireworks is difficult to imagine. In 2020, the year of the corona pandemic, the silent turn of the year will unfortunately largely become a reality. A sales ban on fireworks applies across Europey.
We’ll tell you how you can still set off spectacular fireworks. The Austrian game developer Lukas Trötzmüller is making its fireworks simulator FWsim available for free play from December 25, 2020 to January 1, 2021. You can use it to create your own fireworks – for free, safely and in the warm!
You can find the free game on the own website. To activate it, you have to enter your e-mail address and personal data. FWsim – Fireworks Display Simulator will also appear in the first quarter of 2021 Steam im Early Access.
What kind of game is this?
Anyone who thinks of an undemanding shooting box when thinking of the fireworks simulator is wrong. As the developer explained to us, professional pyrotechnicians use simulation to plan large fireworks. The trailer shows you which extensive possibilities you have when creating your shows.

So you can well-known landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower or large bridges and city scenes as the location for your fireworks. Or you can let a football stadium shine as if your favorite club had just won the Champions League.
The simulator stands out from any normal Otto fireworks display: Instead of just shooting a few rockets from the supermarket around the corner into the sky, you sit down correct (virtual) pyrotechnics in the most creative way possible. The fireworks can be precisely timed on a timeline so that with a little ambition you can stage a minute-long show.
