HyperZoom is a new application to create timelapse videos with zoom effect

There are many applications for making time-lapse videos, so much so that today it is common for this mode to be included in the camera application. HyperZoom is an application specialized in time-lapse views with zoom.

Simply put, while timelapse (sometimes referred to simply as “time lapse”) video recording applications typically involve leaving the camera stationary and letting “the world” move, HyperZoom specializes in the opposite: let it stay. all still and move the camera, to zoom.

HyperZoom is an app under the same concept as any other timelapse: take photos at every time interval, then stitch them together to make a video. The only difference is that this app specializes in take time-lapse videos with zoom, an effect that you have surely seen in movies and commercials.

This is primarily a timelapse app, but with a few tweaks that make it more suitable for this type of video, besides including video stabilization which is not necessary in normal time-lapse views, which assume that the camera has been kept completely still during recording.

Using the app is straightforward, although creating a good video does require some practice. Basically, when you press the shutter button, the camera starts up take pictures at every interval automatically, so you need to sync and make the camera movement precisely, if you want good video.

In practice, this means pressing the shutter button and moving forward with the mobile while trying to the most centered objective possible, while taking pictures. The app lets you choose between a number of snapshots and the interval between them, with more options available for users paying for the Pro version.

The other settings available are aspect ratio and focus type, but otherwise the app doesn’t have much science: shoot and move with precision. It is difficult at first, although after a few tries you start to understand.

The free version is fully functional, although it includes a watermark and not all configuration options are available.
