A new title has been confirmed for this year on Nintendo’s hybrid console. Is about Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed, a high definition remastering of Akiba’s Trip Plus from PSP (2012); which in June 2019 confirmed its departure in the West but without any specific date.

Well, good news comes to us and that is, according to Yodoashi’s sales lists, This remaster will be released on Switch on May 20 in Japan (also on PS4 on the same date).

These are the details that have been shared:

  • The first printed copies of Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed in Japan include a clear sticker.
  • Also available will be a “10th Anniversary Edition” for 8,778 yen, including the 40-page full-color visual book “Akiba’s 10 Years of Memory,” a reprint of the 132-page unbranded “Official Complete Guide to the Game”. Akiba’s Journey ”, and the two-disc soundtrack“ The First Complete Soundtrack of Akiba’s Journey ”.

We leave you the description of the game (shared via XSEED Games) and its trailer:

Travel to the origin of a series that will take your breath away. In Akiba’s Trip, players expose vampire creatures called Shadow Soul to deadly sunlight by freeing them from their clothing. Now, a completely remastered version of the original “Strip Action RPG” arrives in the West for the first time. Following the success of Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed, which was released as Akiba’s Trip 2 in Japan and has sold more than 500,000 copies worldwide, Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed completely rebuilds the first title on a modern engine, returning The beat-’em-up, strip-’em-down game that fans know and love, while accurately reproducing Akihabara, Japan’s geek’s paradise, from circa 2012 in glorious HD.

Finally, we remind you that this remastering was initially announced for PS4 and PC by the western publisher XSEED Games. This is the first confirmation of a version for the hybrid console. It is currently unknown if a standard physical edition of the game will be available in Japan, as Yodobashi only lists the 10th anniversary edition.
