Xbox One gamers now know the Game Preview program inside and out. Now, for the first time, a game in such an early version is also coming to the new Xbox Series X / S consoles.
On the PC, the Early Access program has long been established thanks to Steam. In the course of this, developers can publish an early version for a fee even before the actual completion of a game. Gamers get their hands on coveted games sooner, but at the moment they get an even more limited range of functions. Later, the upgrade to the final full version follows, usually without additional payment, when it appears.
Microsoft has also been offering such a program for a long time in the console sector. Via Xbox Game Preview, developers were able to publish Xbox One games in advance and then develop them together with player feedback until version 1.0 was reached. This program finally makes the leap to the new Xbox Series X / S consoles.
The premiere title via Xbox Game Preview on Xbox Series X / S comes from Realmforge Studios and is called Spacebase Startopia. As publisher Kalypso Media officially confirmed today, the space management simulation is now available in a preliminary version on the new Microsoft console. If you strike, you get direct access to the current beta version and can start playing right away. Such a version is also available for the PC via Steam or the Kalypso Store.
In Spacebase Startopia you have to manage a donut-shaped space station consisting of three different decks, decorate it with galactic gadgets and thus attract a colorful mix of different aliens. The screenshots and the trailer in the context of this message give you more impressions.
Aroused your interest? The game is currently also available at a 10 percent discount through Microsoft and the Kalypso Store. The entire game will later also support Smart Delivery, which means that players on Xbox One can later receive the version for Xbox Series X / S at no additional cost.
Spacebase Startopia will appear as a full version in spring, then also for PS4, PS5 and Switch – in addition to the platforms already mentioned.
