We all know about Minecraft, and maybe one of the latest versions from the same company, Minecraft Land of augmented reality. However, this alternative presented in 2019, with a prospect similar to that of Pokemon Go, will close permanently.
While it offered an elegant premise, bringing creative and collaborative Minecraft gaming to the real world by taking advantage of augmented reality, was not feasible in the global context, embarked on a health emergency which for months limited the movement of people.
Minecraft Earth AR is in despair
Minecraft shared on their blog that Minecraft Earth is going to shut down on June 30, 2021 driven by the pandemic and how life has changed:
“Minecraft Earth was designed around free movement and collaborative play, two things that have become almost impossible in today’s global situation. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to allocate our resources to other areas that bring value to the Minecraft community and to end support for Minecraft Earth in June 2021. “
The farewell would be after the last update, presented this week and that users will be able to play until June 30:
“That said, we still have one update. Today we are releasing the final version of the game, which contains a few changes to make your time in Minecraft Earth as fun as possible. We hope these settings allow you to explore, create, and build more, while staying safe inside. “
The update includes:
- Elimination of real money transactions
- Dramatically reduce ruby costs
- Including all complete and currently unpublished content in our portfolio
- Reduce processing and molding times.
- Replaced unused iron and craft increases with equal radius increases
- Award a Character Creator Item Set to players who logged in between January 5 and June 30
When it comes to Minecraft Earth purchases, here’s what players can expect with both shutdown and after deleting their data:
“Everyone Players with paid ruby balances will receive Minecoins, which you can use in the Minecraft Marketplace to purchase skin and texture packs, maps, and even mini-games. Plus, if you’ve made a purchase in Minecraft Earth before, you’ll receive a free copy of Minecraft Bedrock so you can start over while you purchase goodies from the Marketplace. “
Finally, the Minecraft team thanked the followers of this experience which unfortunately could not continue:
“We are eternally grateful for the incredible talent of the Minecraft community. It wasn’t an easy decision and we’re doing everything we can to make sure you get the most out of Minecraft Earth before the sun goes down.“
