Soon “great news” despite bad news

Bad, great, news

Techland reassures fans that good news for Dying Light 2 will soon follow.

Fans of Dying Light 2 are waiting for good news, a new release date, fresh game scenes, something. Instead, the news that a long-time studio veteran at Techland took his hat off at the turn of the year is causing uncertainty.

It is narration designer Pawel Selinger who, after more than 22 years at Techland, »continues his career elsewhere«, as Techland explained. And further:

“Pawel has spent most of his professional life at Techland and one of his contributions is the success of the Call of Juarez series. He left a great deal of himself with Dying Light 2 as he worked on the project from the start . His tasks, specifically the narrative department, were taken over by Piotr Szymanek in October 2020. “

At the same time, the Polish developer is opposite Game Informer trying to allay fan worries that these characters could be bad news for the zombie parkour game. Rather, the community should stay excited, as Techland will soon share “exciting news about Dying Light 2”.

Apparently no key position vacant

There were rumors that Dying Light 2 had lost its art director in Pawel Selinger. Techland made it clear, however, why this was a hoax. According to this, Selinger recently only held the role of narration designer. Art Director has been Eric Cochonneau since November 2019. Techland further stated:

“Eric has since taken care of every aspect of the upcoming production and the team under his direction are doing their best to give the players the best possible game.”

The video shows you how the gameplay of Dying Light 2 shown so far made us skeptical but also hopeful at the same time:

What happened before

Almost exactly a year has now passed since Dying Light 2 was postponed indefinitely from the previously planned release in spring 2020. In May, reports of chaotic conditions in development caused further uncertainty among fans. Techland vehemently denied this.

Techland split with story writer Chris Avellone in June 2020 after allegations of sexual harassment against him became public.

Since then it has remained largely silent about Dying Light 2. Therefore, fans are still anxiously waiting for a new release date. That could soon follow if one wants to interpret Techland’s recent statements in this way.
