Apple TV + adds ‘Cherry’ to its 2021 movie premieres
“Cherry” is a detective drama which is an adaptation of a novel by Nico Walker and will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. Given his plot, we’ll see Hollande playing a very different role than the superhero who brought him to world fame in recent years.
As we can see in the trailer, Tom Holland plays a Cleveland man named Walker who joins the army after being rejected by a girlfriend. He became an army medic in Iraq and was traumatized by the experience, suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Following this diagnosis, Walker was prescribed Oxycontin to treat his post-traumatic stress disorder, eventually leading to heroin addiction. To pay for drugs Walker begins to rob banks.
In addition to this project, the rights of which brought Apple $ 40 million, the platform announced signing an upcoming two-part documentary that will focus on similar themes to her show with Oprah Winfrey. The documentary will tell 25 years of American history through the lens of interviews with Oprah Winfrey.
