This means that the time has come for Apple to give Android and Windows users the option of using its Messages (iMessages) instant messaging app.
This would provide users with an alternative to the ubiquitous, but insecure and mediocre privacy programs Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.

Although fears of massive espionage and a barrage of advertising appearing in personal conversations are unfounded, more and more users of WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger are turning away from these apps. So if your friends are no longer on WhatsApp and Messenger, where can you reach them now?
The problem is, the platforms work if and only if everyone is there. Apps like FaceBook Messenger and WhatsApp have been popular because they work on all platforms, after recent negative publicity about them, it’s no coincidence that apps like Threema and Signal are currently at the top of the charts of the App Store.
So where did Apple come from? The problem right now is that the Apple Messages app is limited to Apple customers, so it’s not a suitable solution if you have friends and family who use Android, and we all do.
However, Apple’s iMessage solution is private and secure. Apple keeps iMessage conversations safe with end-to-end encryption. Even Apple doesn’t have access to the content, much to the chagrin of law enforcement.
