The date of this year’s New Years sale on Steam was leaked on Twitter. As early as February, Steam invites you to empty your wallet.
The next big Steam sale is just around the corner. Like the leakers from Steam Database on Twitter announced, this year’s Lunar New Year Sale will start on February 11th and should last until February 15th.
As many of you have already suspected, the sale does not celebrate ours, but the Chinese New Year. This will officially be heralded on February 12th and this time it will be under the sign of the ox.
The @Steam Lunar New Year Sale 2021 will run from 11th February to 15th.
Leaked from an email to Steam partners, and you know, the Chinese New Year is on 12th 😉https://t.co/FINTCW7BV2#SteamDeals pic.twitter.com/67NGmJZjUb

As is typical for these leaks, the data usually comes from a development studio with which Valve shared the information internally. This communication policy is intended to help game manufacturers to plan their own sales early on and to position their products. The company itself does not release any public information about sales at any time until the time has actually come.
The New Years sale is usually not one of the biggest discounts on Steam. Valve mostly tries to showcase Chinese and Asian developers in particular during the campaign. Anyone who likes games from the Far East should definitely keep their eyes open in February.
