A new piece of history that was sneaked into the return of King’s Canyon reveals that Mirage has a direct connection to various characters from Titanfall 2.

Apex Legends has several ties to developer Respawn Entertainment’s other popular series, Titanfall. Fans have just made new connections between the Mirage character and Titanfall veterans based on a new recording discovered aboard the Mirage Voyage, which is included in the return of King’s Canyon.

Savvy gamers may recall hearing Mirage ask if anyone has seen his cell phone while he was supposed to be announcing December’s Winter Express limited-time mode. Turns out, he left it on his own ship, the Mirage Voyage, which players can now find when they drop into King’s Canyon in Apex Legends. Accessing the phone during a match will play a voicemail from Mirage’s mother, Evelyn Witt.

Evelyn Witt begins by posing as Titanfall 2’s antagonist and leaked legend Kubin Blisk to mess with her son Elliot, whom everyone else knows as Mirage. Evelyn suffers from some kind of dementia or memory loss, so she forgets who she is talking to in the middle of the voicemail. She begins to ramble about how she misses her children, and then mentions how she misses her brother, Droz, as well. Then she adds the name Davis and says that the two of them together made her laugh.

Those familiar with the history of Titanfall 2 may recognize the names Droz and Davis as two jolly members of the 6-4, a part of the Frontier Militia. The two help player-protagonist Jack Cooper board the IMS Malta on his way to stop the IMC from unleashing a superweapon on Harmony, the home planet of the militia.

The two can also be seen directing the player in Titanfall 2’s Frontier Defense cooperative mode, where the player defends the Harvesters, similar to the one in the center of World’s Edge in Apex, from the IMC attack. Although the two joke as if they are related and call each other brothers, their different accents suggest that they are only “brothers in arms” and not blood relatives. For now it is only officially confirmed that Droz is Elliot’s uncle.

Later in the voicemail, Evelyn mentions that her son is celebrating the second anniversary of his participation in the Apex Games and that “there is also a girl, who he started talking about.” The “girl” in question is probably Wraith from Apex Legends, as the comics and trailers suggest that there is a budding relationship between them, but it could also be that Mirage is talking about her business partner Rampart, as she now manages her sales of weapons of Mirage Bar.

Mirage’s anniversary will likely line up with Apex Legends’ second anniversary, which will take place on February 4. It was leaked that a special anniversary event will be held in Apex Legends that will include new colors of the favorite skins of fans of the past. two years. This will likely coincide with the start of Season 8 as well.

Apex Legends is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S, with Switch and mobile versions in development.
