Tomonobu Itagaki, is a rare Japanese video game developer who worked in Tecmo (now Koei Tecmo), although in 2008 he left the company to found Valhalla Game Studios. However, in August 2017 he announced that he was resigning as direct from the studio, which was known for being the creator of Devil’s Third, an exclusive title for Wii U that was released on August 28, 2015. It should also be remembered that Itagaki is behind the titles of Dead or Alive and the modern era of Ninja Gaiden, but for four years he had not developed any video game again.

Tomonobu Itagaki resigns as director of Valhalla Game Studios

Well, we get interesting news related to him. It turns out that Itagaki has revealed in an interview with the medium Bloomberg (which he has shared on his own Facebook page) who has been working on developing younger talent for the past few years:

For the past four years, I have been teaching youth nurturing, but now I feel like I want to make a game again and I just started a company for that purpose.

On the other hand, Itagaki has created a new studio, Itagaki Games, but does not currently seem interested in releasing games for Nintendo. and seems to be more interested in working with Microsoft and rekindle the relationship that began when the original Xbox console launched. When asked about Xbox fans waiting to see what he does next, he replied:

You can count on me for that. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have accepted an interview for this Xbox article… I know Microsoft is still aggressive. If they approach me, it will be an honor for me.

Finally, we remind you that although originally scheduled for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 with the publication of THQ, Devil’s Third was finally published by Nintendo, but was generally received quite coldly by both the press and the public (his mark in metacritic is 43). Most of the compliments came for its online mode (which seemed to be quite funny), but its outdated graphics, its story that did not seem to convince and that it was in English seems to have condemned it to the most absolute ostracism. Finally, on December 29, 2016, the Devil’s Third servers were officially closed. Therefore, since then its owners can only play story mode.

The online services of 'Devil's Third' will be closed at the end of the year
