Update 33: New Frontiers for Deep Rock Galactic brings a slew of new content, including two brand new alien biomes, new enemies, and more.
The makers of Deep Rock Galactic announced today that the highly anticipated Update 33: New Frontiers will hit Steam on February 4th, with the Xbox version following shortly after on February 11th. The latest update to the co-op mini-mines space FPS introduces some new content, including two new biomes with new enemies. Azure Weald is a bioluminescent treasure trove and Hollow Bough is a dangerous new region from Hoxxes VI that initially looks like the inside of a giant tree.
In addition to the new playable environments, missions and opponents, Update 33 also reveals two new dropsites for the crew of the dwarves, alongside many new mission specifications and Mactera to combat. In addition, the big update includes everything from UI improvements, a streamer-friendly jukebox to additional dance moves to pop.
Elimination, Rescue, and Scoring modes have been redesigned. Dwarves taking on elimination quests face double problems as two new variants of dreadnoughts appear from Hoxxes IV. The miners compete against the Dreadnought Hiveguard and the monster twins: Dreadnought Arbalest and Lacerator. During rescue tasks, you can now interact with a broken MULE to download the positions of its missing legs to your terrain scanner, making target location easier.
Streamers can look forward to it. Eight new “safe” tracks are now available for all players who do not have to fear copyright strikes. There are also tons of new dance moves in this update. Other new features that come with Update 33 are a revised trade terminal UI, a new animation for Molly when docking the drop capsules.
