Recently, prolific leaker @OnLeaks shared a render of what the P50 Pro is supposed to be, supposedly measuring at 6.6 ” but in almost identical dimensions to the standard 6.1 ” P40. Based on this, it’s possible that the P50 will measure 6.22 inches while the P50 Pro will have a larger screen of 6.6 inches.
However, those hoping for 120Hz refresh rates seem to be disappointed, as even the recently announced Mate 40 Pro only ships with a 90Hz panel.
All of the rumors we’ve seen so far seem to suggest that will be the case for the P50. While this is an improvement over the P40, which only processed 60Hz, it does mean Huawei phones will miss out on a flagship feature found on many of its rivals, including the OnePlus 8T and Samsung Galaxy S20.
Cameras

As for what a liquid lens does, it will supposedly allow much faster autofocus speeds, down to a few milliseconds, similar to those of the human eye.
It will also be able to offer superior image stabilization and, best of all, it is expected to be more durable than existing equivalent camera systems.
Due to these strengths, it is believed that Huawei will use this feature on the P50 series telephoto lenses, rather than the main camera.
There is also talk of a 5 MP camera to facilitate depth perception and focus; for portrait and night modes.
The renderings shared by @OnLeaks appear to have a single front-facing holepunch camera on the supposed P50 Pro, below the dual offering of the P40 line. That makes sense, considering how much space a dual holepunch camera takes up, but there are no details on what the front-facing camera might offer at this time.
The P40 might already capture video at 4K / 60fps, so there’s not much room for improvement, but Huawei could implement software improvements to boost the already excellent stabilization and focus on video. Whatever solution Huawei decides to offer on the P50, we’re sure it will be one of the best.
Software
As of this writing, the US ban on Huawei has had its biggest impact on the software available for its phones. Google Play services are not offered, so accessing the Google Play Store is not an option unless you want to use a fairly technical solution.
It is not known whether or not this will change in the immediate future. The US presidential election may have something to do with it, but it will only be a matter of waiting.
Meanwhile, Huawei is working on its own operating system, HarmonyOS, which could make its first appearance on devices in 2021. So if the P50 arrives, it could be very different from its predecessors.
