New Fortnite leak suggests a new crossover with Lara Croft

Fortnite Season 5 is all about the most dangerous bounty hunters, and if the leaks are to be believed, Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft may be next. Agent Jonsey is attracting more and more bounty hunters to protect The Loop. Zero Point’s story from Season 5 of Chapter 2 continues to unfold as more iconic characters join the hunt. Thanks to some leaks and some fan speculation, video game icon Lara Croft may be next.

According to Fortnite data miner Mang0e, a new crossover skin is coming to the game soon. Titled “Typhoon,” the skin is for a female character and will have reactive styles. The portal that appears when the character arrives also appears to have a “blink” effect.

While there may not be much information to work with, Fortnite fans seem to think that the codename Typhoon is a reference to developer Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider 2013. In 2013’s Tomb Raider, Lara Croft is stranded on an island after a massive storm destroys her ship and traps her on the island of Yamatai off the coast of Japan.

The official Tomb Raider Twitter account cryptically tweeted earlier this month some emoji that seem to suggest that Lara is building something. Honestly, there’s not much to work from there, but it does align with the Mang0e leaks.

Players have already seen several major hunters join Agent Jonsey in Fortnite. The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda, the two great hunters from the Star Wars universe, have already joined the game. The Walking Dead has also had two formidable hunters, Daryl Dixon and Michonne, who brought their zombie hunt to Fortnite. Both Microsoft and Sony have added major characters joining the game as well, with Master Chief and Kratos taking the hunt across all platforms.

While Epic Games is still silent on who the last character may be, the classic video game hunter Lara Croft would make a great addition to Fortnite.
