Chronic The Witcher: something new in the prequel!
The Witcher: Blood Origin was announced by Netflix in July 2020 and tells the story of the origins of the witch profession. Netflix France has announced new details: Salomé says a little more in the second daily newspaper.
Originally published in the 90s, the literary saga The witcher written by Andrzej Sapkowski converted to multiple media. CD Projekt has developed several video games with Geralt de Riv, witcher and protagonist of the license. The latter is popularized with unanimous triumph in the third episode: 93/100 for the press and 9.4 / 10 for the players on Metacritic. In 2019, Netflix produced a series of the same name that resumed the history of books, in particular with Henry Cavill (Man of Steel, Batman versus Superman …) in the role of Geralt. A success that will lead the head of Netflix to produce other productions in the same universe.
The origin of the funny ones soon explained?
Such is the case of The Witcher: Blood Origin, for example. The mini, divided into six episodes, will take place 1,200 years before the events in Sapkowski’s books. The conjunction of the spheres is tackled, this fusion between the world of elves, humans and monsters. Netflix France says Jodie Turner-Smith will be part of the cast of the spin-off, playing the role of Éile. The latter gave up her clan and her status as guardian of the queen to become a traveling musician.
In addition, Netflix America announced two days ago that filming of season 2 of the main series of The Witcher had resumed without a release date being announced. As a reminder, an animated film called The Witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare is also in preparation: it will tell the story of Vesemir, witcher and mentor to Geralt.
