Sony Xperia 1 III leaked: first images and features

features, III, images, leaked, Sony, Xperia

Sony is one of the oldest manufacturers in the mobile phone industry. His temporary union with Ericsson gave birth to some of the most iconic models in history, but for a while he seemed to be trying to find his place.

The recent launch of the Sony Xperia Pro 5G shows us where the shots are going, targeting a very narrow niche of users.

However, in 2021, a new, more conventional model will emerge, the Sony Xperia 1 III, the third in a series of mobiles that bet on their own aesthetic.

The Sony Xperia 1 III is almost identical to the Sony Xperia 1 II

Steve Hemmerstoffer, better known as Onleaks, was tasked with showing us what the new model will look like in renderings that, as always, use the final shots as a guide.

In them we see that on the outside there are many changes, the front being dominated by a huge elongated screen with a 21: 9 ratio and with tight bezels, but not as small as in others manufacturers.

The rear doesn’t change too much either, keeping the camera module and a glass finish that moves away from the polycarbonate of the model announced this week. The peripheral frame is metallic and the dimensions will be 161.6 x 67.3 x 8.4mm, the latter amounting to 9.6mm above the camera.

The screen has a diagonal of 6.5 inches with a 21: 9 ratio and 4K resolution, with HDR and OLED technologies. Plus, it will be flat, as it seems to be trending again in recent months.

Regarding the cameras, there are three at the back, but a fourth ToF sensor is incorporated, in line with what we saw at Apple in 2020. In addition, the optical zoom sensor finally opts for a periscope system, we assume that by 5 increases.

Other leaked features are support for 5G networks, something to expect, the presence of a headphone jack, a rarity or the ability to use microSD cards.

The fingerprint sensor will remain on the power button and we will have two front speakers, like in gaming mobiles.
