About 23 years after its release, we thought we knew all about the Game Boy Camera, the iconic accessory to Nintendo’s no less iconic portable console. Yet it seems that possible use of the software contained in the camera cartridge has been completely overlooked by ordinary people.
Indeed, The Game Boy camera offers the option of taking photos with the “Hot spot. “With the latter, you can create interactive points on the photos that are automatically transported to another previously selected photo.
Camra multi-usages
A certain one Karolina Twardosz, Artist / Developer by State, came up with the idea of using this feature to create an old-fashioned point and click playable from this submenu on the Game Boy camera. The title Attack of the Fluff MonsterMade with photos taken with the Game Boy camera, this game is a very short adventure that can be completed in under five minutes.
During the latter, the player is asked to solve a puzzle and face a boss. The game and its implementation are sketchy, but the least we can say is that the idea is original. Those interested in this project can experience the full game in the video above.
Karolina Twardosz’s work (made with a real Game Boy camera) definitely raises the question of whether gamers and other developers will still be able to find ways to surprise us with the Game Boy camera.
