One of the features introduced by Microsoft during E3 was the Xbox Console distribution. With this we can play with our Xbox One Console whenever we want with our mobile. Unfortunately, during the fall of 2019 it resulted only in the United States and UK in the form of previews.
While not yet available to everyone, Microsoft quickly announced that our Project xCloud server, and the service itself, will arrive earlier this year. As announced Major Nelson, don't wait too long, and most importantly, without the effort as needed so far.
Xbox Console streaming is available on any Insider
As mentioned, any Xbox Insider in the country where Xbox One is supported You can enter this test now. In fact, when we look at The toy store the required request should already appear.
- We'll have to be Xbox Insider in the supported region. It is important to note that the console must have a preview version, it will not be appropriate to identify only us.
- Mobile or Tablet with Bluetooth connection with Android 6.0 or higher.
- Bluetooth controller that connects to mobile or tablet.
- Microsoft account, which will also be an Xbox One account.
- At least 4.75 Mbps, although recommended 9 Mbps.
- The latency is less than 125 ms, although better if it is less than 60 ms.
- Configure our console to enable Instant-On.
These are the requirements we must meet if we are to try the service. The console itself in preparation will perform a diagnostic test to determine if our communication is appropriate. Because of this, we can play with WiFi or mobile data in any game we've installed on our console.
Currently the Xbox Console Broadcast is in the testing phase to improve the service again, so it's for Insider only from Skip Ahead to Omega. In addition, users who have an iPad or iPhone will still have to wait a while, until Microsoft decides to launch with these devices.
What to do if we want to try Broadcast Xbox Console
If we are not part of the Xbox Insider program we will need to do a series of additional steps to try this function. We won't need to risk our console for further failures, and we can enjoy this new experience.
Sign up and join the Insider program
- Download the Insider Center app on our Xbox One.
- Once our account is started, we will open the app, where you will need to accept the terms of use of the application.
- When it's done, we should go to the contents inside, and on the system tab we'll see the Xbox One update first.
- We'll have to join, so it can take a few hours.
- Once joined correctly, we will skip the Xbox One update.
Set up the Xbox One to allow streaming
- We must enable Instant-On mode in Settings> General> Power Mode and Startup.
- Among the options we will have is Power Mode, which should be on Instant-On (Quick Start in Spain).
- By default, the Console Broadcast option must appear on the Devices tab and stream.
- Here we will find the option to enable the Xbox Console streaming, as well as the option to perform the required test.
- If we know the box, it will take us to the test directly. If we keep up with the speed and speed required by Microsoft, it will allow us to keep up and running.
- If we use a cone connected to a router on our router it will be easier to pass the test.
Optimizing our cell phone or tablet
- Having a compatible Android device, we will download the app through The toy store.
- When we open an app on our mobile phone, it will ask us to sign in with a Microsoft account for our Xbox One.
- It will give us the option of setting up a new console, where the mobile and console opens. As soon as it's available, the next step will be to connect our Bluetooth controller to the mobile phone.
This is all that is required for the Xbox Console streaming to function properly. Virtually any communication today should acknowledge this service, with more or less quality. It is best not to wait too long to enjoy the news they are preparing from Redmond.
