The update is being improved God of WarThe 2018 PlayStation 4 title for PlayStation 5 will be available on Tuesday, February 2nd. The free patch adds a new menu option that gives PS5 players a performance of 60 frames per second with 4K resolution.
Players can stick to the standard “Original Performance Experience” settings, which continue to deliver 4K checkerboard resolutions, but are synchronized at 30 fps. The improved performance mode gives gamers a resolution of 2160p at 60 fps.
God of War is playable on PlayStation 5 through the console’s backward compatibility support. This effectively makes the game a free upgrade.
God of War is also included in the PlayStation Plus 20 game collection, the bundle of downloadable titles that PlayStation 5 owners are entitled to upon purchase. A PlayStation Plus subscription is required to access the collection, but this can only be claimed by people with one of the new consoles – and which of course were difficult to come by.
