Gboard is the keyboard that many users in Europe use on their Android phones. The Google keyboard is one of the most versatile that we find on the market, with a large number of functions that we can take advantage of. This keyboard also supports voice dictation, so that we can write using our voice.
Something that many Gboard users have surely noticed that the keyboard block or censor words considered offensive, like insults. There are times when this isn’t a nuisance, but for some users, it’s a feature that only reduces keyboard usage.
How to turn off the suggestion to use the new emojis in Gboard
If you don’t want to use the new Emoji Kitchen feature in Gboard, which suggests new custom emojis, you can turn it off by following these steps.
Disable blocking offensive words from Gboard
This lock may be too strict for some users who they want to be able to write any word worry-free, both when typing and when using voice input on the keyboard. Fortunately, there is a way to turn off this offensive word blocker, to use any words you want when using this keyboard on your Android phone. The steps to unlock this feature are:
- Open Gboard on your mobile (the app or an app where you need to use the keyboard).
- Go to settings.
- Enter spell checking.
- Look for the option “Block offensive words”.
- Disable the switch next to this option.
When we have done this, the Google keyboard will allow us write any type of word without any problem. Words that the keyboard classifies or considers offensive will not be blocked. This feature is present in all languages the keyboard works on, so if you change the keyboard language you may need to do it again.
This is a fairly straightforward setting, which for many Android users will allow for better use of Gboard. If you think this blocking offensive words is something annoying or unnecessary, these steps will allow you to turn it off on your mobile and thus no longer have to worry about this feature.
