In addition to the reveal of season 2 of Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer), the second anniversary celebration of the ‘anime’ enjoyed another important revelation. For 7 minutes, Natsuki Hanae and Hiro Shimono – voice actors responsible for portraying Tanjiro Kamado and Zenitsu Agatsuma, respectively – played the versus mode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Keppuutan. Thanks to this little demo, we now know more about the mechanics of the game based on the popular work of Koyoharu Gotoge.

How many characters will there be in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Keppuutan?

Although it is unknown how many controllable characters there will be in the final product, the demo reveals five: Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira Y Giyu Tomioka. Among the characters that could come to the game are the Nine Pillars – which include the aforementioned Giyu Tomioka – and the Twelve Demonic Moons. This suggests that the game could have up to 30 characters.

What will the gameplay be like?

As you can see, the combat system is very reminiscent of that of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm. Players will be able to form a team of three and all characters will only have one attack button. Depending on the direction the analog is tilted, the combos will be different. Additionally, these may be interrupted by means of special techniques. However, there are a few differences from the games of Naruto.

First of all, there is no mechanic equivalent to the Chakra Boost. In this way, mobility in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Keppuutan will be much more limited than in games of Naruto. There is also no mechanic equivalent to the Substitution Jutsu. Not least, players will be able to trade between the different members of their team. This cannot be done in Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm.

Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hinokami Kepputan It’s not just coming to PlayStation 4. It will also be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X / S and PC.. At the moment, there is no specific release date and it is unknown if it will reach the West.
