AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card with 12 GB, launch

AMD, card, graphics, launch, Radeon

This chart is rumored to come out on March 18 at a price of less than $ 500, which if all goes according to plan would translate to around 499 dollars in all likelihood, something that collides with the $ 399 that the RTX 3060 Ti has as an introductory price (leaving out the fact that it then sold a lot more due to speculation and lack of stock).

AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, with 12 GB of VRAM and RDNA 2 architecture

In principle, the Radeon RX 6700 XT family of graphics cards compete with the NVIDIA RTX 3060 series, and this particular model would compete with the RTX 3060 Ti for performance, despite rumors that it would be more expensive (however, please note that until AMD announces it, we cannot be sure how much it will cost). We’ve seen charts for PowerColor, Gigabyte, and ASRock listed on ECC before, and at this point it’s unclear whether the March 18 launch date will simply become the announcement or the launch itself.

We previously discussed how AMD envisions the RX 6700 XT as a graphics designed for gaming at 1440p resolution, and the information now that it has 12GB of VRAM reinforces this approach (that means it has more VRAM than the RTX 3060 Ti and the same as the RTX 3060), simply because the 1080p resolution is already “too small”.

Finally, we have the specifications of the Radeon RX 6700 series which includes the Navi 22 XT and Navi 22 XL GPUs. The Radeon RX 6700 XT with the full Navi 22 XT GPU SKU is expected to feature 40 compute units or 2,560 stream processors, while the Radeon 6700 with Navi 22 XL would have a smaller configuration in comparison. The graphics will feature a 12GB GDDR6 buffer with a 192-bit interface, and since AMD will likely use 16Gbps arrays, it would generate a total bandwidth of 384GB / s.

Dual location cooling solution

Moving on to the design, we would be talking about a new dual slot graphics card with a design similar to the triple slot offering but with a slightly compact form factor. The card would feature a dual-fan design with axial technology and the large ‘R’ logo in the middle as well as on the fans, indicating AMD’s Radeon branding.

The graphics will also feature the LED-lit Radeon logo on one side and a large cutout to remove heat from the aluminum radiator on that side. There are two 8 pin power connectors, but we will also be able to see 8 + 6 pin configurations for the power optimized variants of the assemblers. The graphics come in a dual slot form factor and should have a similar I / O port configuration to the rest of the graphics in the series.
