Star Wars: Republic Comando is coming back to consoles from Aspyr Media that will adapt a classic from the time when Lucas Arts designed his own games. Republic Comando is a special one as it let you enter the universe at the hands of an elite group of clones before they became part of the Empire’s army.

The title will arrive on Switch and PS4 in digital format within a couple of months and, apparently in the trailer, they updated the graphics to current standards as far as they could. And it is that Republic Comando was made in the first Unreal Engine, so there were certain limitations.

Group mission

In this game the player assumes control of RC-1338 (Boss), an elite clone that leads a special operations group made up of three other clones with different personalities, it is RC-1262 (Scorch), RC-1140 ( Fixer), and RC-1207 (Sev). The game falls between Episode II and III and was part of the Star Wars extended universe (not canon).

In addition, the title is played as a first-person strategy shooter, you can order your companions to move to certain places or shoot enemies in a specific area at your discretion. At the time he received positive reviews for this and for the combat that was quite polished and accomplished.

For its part, Aspyr Media already has a lot of experience with ports of classic Star Wars games like Star Wars: Racer, Jedi Academy or the Knights Of The Old Republic that are playable on mobile phones thanks to this study. So this new port is in good hands, especially when we talk about its adaptation to Nintendo Switch.
