Jet Set Radio is an action-adventure sports game developed by Smilebit and distributed by SEGA that was released on November 24, 2000 on Dreamcast and in 2003 received a version for the Game Boy Advance. This title received in 2002 a sequel on Xbox called Jet Set Radio Future and in 2012 a version of Jet Set Radio was launched for multiple platforms (PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita, iOs and Android). Since then the franchise has been inactive.
In July of last year we informed you that Team Reptile (developer of games like Lethal League and Lethal League Blaze), was developing a spiritual successor called Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. And not only that, but it also has music by Hideki Naganuma, the composer of Sega’s Jet Set Radio series.
Well, it turns out that this week the 19th anniversary of Jet Set Radio Future and, accordingly, Team Reptile has released an “official trailer” for Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

Team Reptile brings you Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, 1 second per second of very advanced funk style. In a world out of Dion Koster’s mind, where self-taught crews are equipped with personal boostpacks, new heights of graffiti are reached. Create your own cypher and dance, paint, cheat, face the police and claim your right to the extrusions and cavities of a sprawling metropolis in an alternate future set with the musical brainwaves of Hideki Naganuma.
The developer previously confirmed that the game will reach consoles and PC. In this latest update, Team Reptile has also mentioned how it intends to launch the game in «all relevant platforms »by 2022 (It was previously scheduled for sometime in 2021). Evidently, although a release for Nintendo Switch has yet to be officially confirmed, the hybrid console is relevant enough that it will also receive the game. Therefore, there will be no choice but to wait to enjoy this title.
