Eight seasons of Apex Legends and it continues to break records on its own. Specifically, those in the PC space seem to have been gravitating heavily towards the Battle Royale shooter for the past few weeks since the beginning of Season 8. So much so that, in fact, the game was able to break a new record for concurrent players during this weekend.
According SteamDB, Apex Legends broke a new all-time player record for those on Steam yesterday Saturday, February 27. The total number of players exceeded 198,235 in total. Considering that the game has been available for over two years at the moment, it is incredibly impressive to see so many who are still playing Apex Legends on a routine basis after all this time.
That said, it’s worth emphasizing that just because Steam players may have appeared in droves over the weekend, it doesn’t mean that the PC platform as a whole featured the majority of concurrent Apex Legends players at a single point. . Unfortunately, we have no way of inferring whether this may have been the case or not. Still, Steam is often a good barometer to tell us how popular a game can be at any given time, and if these player numbers are similar on other platforms, EA and Respawn Entertainment must be delighted with the shooter’s track record.
The impressive thing that Apex Legends has already racked up so many players once again is that its player base will only grow even more in the next month. If you weren’t already counting the days until launch, Apex Legends will finally arrive on Nintendo Switch in just over a week. The game’s official release date will be Tuesday, March 9.
Until then, you can obviously still play Apex Legends on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
