Last year, Actu Gaming surprised people by holding a French direct meeting in midsummer. Between the Summer Game Fest and Gamescom, the French website humbly launched its event dedicated to games created by French-speaking teams. An excellent initiative as the area is full of talent and their visibility is sometimes limited. This time it is very early in the year that Actu Gaming announces the good news: A new edition of the GA French Direct will take place in March!
An event for French video games. And a little more!
With this new edition, AG French Direct is the first event of the year without manufacturer emissions. It will therefore benefit from a cheaper calendar than 2020, far from the shadow of large international meetings. Because of this, it’s not impossible to see some surprises and announcements there, as publishers and developers can take advantage of the relative calm of the pre-turmoil from E3, Summer Game Fest, IGN event and corporate.
If the program is obviously not yet known, Actu Gaming has published an initial list of partners. There will be more than 40 French-speaking studios present, some of which are known to the players. Arkane Studios, Dotemu or Microids will star, while viewers will see the work of teams of more confidential fame like Goblinz Studio (A long way down to the eye), Amplitude Studios (Endless dungeon) or BlazingStick (Cyber hook).
The website promises more diversity for this new presentation than in 2020. The games presented should affect all media and all budgets with “small” and larger projects. But there should also be variety in the genres presented, with productions with very different playful ambitions.

To participate in AG French Direct, all you have to do is visit the Actu Gaming website or their social networks. The show will take place punctually on March 24th at 5:00 p.m. and is expected to last about an hour. The format was intended to resume that of the previous edition with trailers and gameplay commented directly by the developers. And good news for Anglophobes: all presentations will be available in French!
The first of this new event had been a great success. Dozens of games were featured earlier and leading studios were in attendance. At that time we had managed to discover new pictures of Haven or to stop at Arkane Studios’ Deathloop. We are therefore excited to discover this second iteration with hopefully games for our Xbox!
After all, you know AG French Direct is supposed to be recurring. So. Actu Gaming announces a third event later this year. We wish everyone the best of luck with this great initiative!
