You can download the Peasant Edition of the bloody medieval strategy game Ancestors Legacy via Steam. However, the free version doesn’t give you the full experience.
What kind of game is this? Ancestors Legacy transports you to the Middle Ages, where the factions Vikings, the Order of the Teutonic Knights, the Anglo-Saxons and the Slavs clash in brutal battles. The paid standard version, which you can still buy for 29.99 dollars on Steam, wants to offer you historically accurate discussions from the time that you experience in five missions per game.
It’s really down to business. Ancestors Legacy is not stingy with blood and brutal duels between the warriors. There is also a multiplayer mode available, which you can use to fight each other. You can read our review of the real-time strategy game here:

What’s in the Peasant Edition? The free “Peasant Edition” contains all 17 maps from the multiplayer mode of the standard game. You can also play all four factions. Basically, you experience the entire multiplayer part of the real-time strategy game for free.
In addition, it is even possible to complete four single-player missions from the campaign. If you like them and want to experience more, then you have to buy the regular version of Ancestors Legacy.

That’s the catch: The Peasant Edition is a standalone game. This means that you cannot fight those who own the standard edition in multiplayer. So “peasants” stay among themselves.
Still, the free edition of Ancestors Legacy is more than just a demo. If you are looking for a multiplayer strategy game that you can experience for free with friends, then this version is definitely suitable. After all, everything you need for epic multiplayer battles is included. You just have to do without the majority of the single player campaign.
