While Valve is returning to the Half-Life franchise after more than a decade with its special VR experience Half-Life: Alyx This year, the company says it is "not at all" to make another game with a lot of rumors: Left 4 Dead 3.
In a statement to IGN, Valve said that it "briefly analyzes [d] the other 4 left-handed opportunities in the last few years," but that it doesn't work in Left 4 Dead now and doesn't work for years.
The new Left 4 Dead game has been rumored for almost a decade, especially in the form of leak
But it was McVicker's latest tweet about Left 4 Dead VR for the game that stirred speculation about the game's existence and illness. In December, Taken by McVicker that "Left 4 VR is dead is real," and with the recent confirmation of Half-Life: Alyx, that tweet was widely interpreted to mean that L4D VR was still active. In new video posted Friday, McVicker explained that his reference to Left 4 Dead VR “had to do with the kind of development in 2017 that I had received and that I was working on the project.
"All of this I said on this subject," McVicker continued, saying his comments were distorted by sports websites.
They were also misrepresented as a fact by China's HTC VR president, Alvin Wang Graylin. On Friday, Graylin slides sent in tiles
But Valve has misused those rumors now. In the meantime, fans of Left 4 Dead will have to stay satisfied with the first two games, or one of their next spiritual successors, such as GTFO either Back 4 Blood, the last of which was developed by the original developer of Left 4 Dead Turtle Rock.
