The hint of a possible Microsoft Xbox VR headset that surfaced yesterday was just a localization error.
Anyone who connected their brand new Xbox Wireless Headset to the Xbox console for the first time yesterday received a system message about the update of an unknown VR headset.
The news suggested that VR headset support might come to Xbox consoles. Either through Microsoft’s own headset or from third-party providers.
But as it now turns out, the message was just an error.
An Xbox spokesman told gaming journalist Stephen Totilo that it was a localization error. There is currently no focus from VR on console.
