During the Square Enix Presents digital event, the Crystal Dynamics studio presented us the roadmap with all the content that we will see in the game of Avengers for the next few months. There are interesting elements there, like the “War for Wakanda” expansion coming alongside Black Panther. However, there is an absence that is giving something to talk about. Why haven’t we seen anything about Spider-Man coming to Marvel’s Avengers?
In August 2020, a few weeks before the game’s release, it was leaked that Spider-Man would be part of the cast of controllable characters from Marvel’s Avengers, but only on PlayStation platforms. This was confirmed and caused a little controversy among those who thought to acquire the game on other platforms.
But we haven’t heard from it since then and the absence of the wall-crawler on the road map began to cause suspicions.
In this context, IGN spoke with Scot Amos – director of Crystal Dynamics – and asked him about the arrival of Spider-Man to the game Marvel’s Avengers. He replied that right now there are people working on the development of this character and it is on the roadmap for the future.
Clarified that Spider-Man won’t arrive in game before Black Panther. That means we won’t see it before the third quarter of 2021. Although Amos did not commit to a date, we understand that the earliest I could get to the game would be the last quarter of this year.
