Will Apple Ditch the iMac Pro?

There are rumors circulating about a new Mac Pro, but the interesting thing is that some suggest there will be a smaller Mac Pro. This may be the future of the iMac Pro.
What is the iMac Pro (or was it)?
Before we start speculating on the specs of the replacement iMac Pro, let’s take a look at what the iMac Pro is (or was).
The iMac Pro was Apple’s first product designed for creative professionals after the company acknowledged in April 2017 that it was going to be thinking more of them with the launch of the iMac Pro and a monitor.
The iMac Pro arrived in late 2017 and we were impressed. It featured Intel Xeon W processors (8 standard cores but up to 18 cores; 32 GB of standard RAM but up to 256 GB) and better graphics (Radeon Pro Vega 56 standard). Apple discontinued it and replaced it with the 10-core model.
However, as impressive as the iMac Pro was when it first hit the market, since the standard iMac has grown more powerful, the difference between the two is narrowing.
Is there a need for the iMac Pro? We believe so. There are people who need the iMac Pro, but not the Mac Pro. Apple seems to agree if these rumors of a smaller Mac Pro by 2022 are true.
Release date
In a note to investors in early March 2020, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said he expects Apple to release an update to its iMac Pro in the last quarter of 2020.
According to Kuo, this delay in the arrival of the new model is due to the fact that Apple is working on new technology for its screen. The iMac Pro and other new Apple products are expected to feature a mini-LED backlit display.
Another possible reason would be that the company is waiting for the next generation of Intel Xeon W processors. However, these are already available, so they can wait for the Intel Ice Lake W chips.
Price
The current iMac Pro has a starting price of $ 5,499. Our prediction is that the price in Europe will stay, although Apple might surprise us both in one way and another. It might seem like a steep price tag but it is understood by the specs it has.
On the other hand, it also doesn’t seem so far-fetched compared to the iMac the 27 “ more premium, which costs 5,809 $. We can also compare it with the Mac Pro entry, with a price of $ 6,499 for the tour model.
Design
When it released in 2017, the only physical change the iMac Pro made from the classic iMac was its color, which changed from silver to space gray. To be honest, that won’t change much as that is its distinctive color.
While the iMac Pro’s external appearance retained that of the iMac, it was on the inside that we found the most differences. These changes led to a cooling system allowing 75% more ventilation.
This is difficult to overcome, so we believe that for now the next generation of iMac Pro will continue to maintain this design, especially since Apple has yet to redesign its classic iMac (although that may change. with the iMac on 2021).
At the same time, considering that the company has downsized the bezels on the MacBook Airs, iPhones, and iPads in recent years, Apple might decide to do so on the iMac Pro as well. We could see the arrival of a 30-inch screen with reduced bezels.

Processor
We know it won’t come with an Intel processor. In 2020, Apple announced its transition to Apple Silicon processors. The first models to arrive with the M1 chip did so in November 2020.

Apple claimed to be working on 32-core graphics and that by 2022 we could see up to 64 and 128 dedicated cores in Apple’s most powerful computers.
Screen
If the iMac Pro is replaced with a similar machine, the screen could feature a new design. Or it can be accompanied by a new external monitor.
