During these years, there have been many rumors about certain items that Apple could test. Among them, some seem to arrive in a fairly near future, like Apple Glass. But there are other devices that we will probably never see, or at least not for many years to come, like smart lenses with augmented reality.
the analist Kuo Now brings new information about a possible Apple headset that would track eye movements and blinking, authenticating users with iris recognition.
Virtual reality closer than ever
The latest rumors and reports of new Apple devices continue to revolve around the virtual reality
Continuing with Kuo’s information, it looks like this product would have a sophisticated eye tracking system. The headphones could detect where the user is looking and would be unlocked with iris recognition (like the current Touch ID and Face ID)
The revolutionary helmet design with new features
The product has been described as “portable” but not “mobile”. We would therefore be talking about a device that can be used wirelessly, but I wouldn’t create to wear all day
The possibility that the device could have eye tracking would allow for new user interactions, such as looking at a location for a few seconds to reveal more information or blinking to select an item.
The headset will also be able to perform performance optimizations based on where it knows the user is looking. Kuo does not know if the helmet would have iris recognition
The headphones could go on sale next year at a price of 1000 dollars. You could argue that this would be the first device of a new top-of-the-line and apparently Apple wouldn’t have many sales expectations either.
