The most innovative of Xiaomi

This device is the brand’s first folding to date, after years of rumors and leaks. It uses the form factor that ushered in the original Samsung Galaxy Fold, and which ended up using Huawei in the Mate X2 as well.

In other words, we have a book format with an external screen and an internal 8 inch screen. The hinge has been tested for strength and the company says each model is designed to be bent over 200,000 times.

Xiaomi has bragged about the possibility of working with this mobile thanks to its huge internal display, although this is something that it has in common with the rest of the folding devices that use this format.

In terms of security, Xiaomi has implemented an option so that with a press we turn off microphones, cameras and GPS tracking.

As if that were not enough, with a gesture the computer interface is activated, which transforms the mobile into a monitor by connecting a keyboard and a mouse. In addition, we can use two tabs simultaneously, moving items from one to another.

The external display measures 6.52 inches, although it has more bezels, at least it seems, than the Fold 2. It has a 90Hz refresh rate, while the inside has a 60Hz.

The sound has not been neglected and we have four speakers, calibrated by Harman Kardom.

This new Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha arrives with a liquid camera lens, something the brand itself announced last week. This type of lens makes it possible to use the same sensor as two types of sensors, which can for example act as a telephoto lens and a macro sensor.

The liquid used helps to mold the focal length, thus achieving faster focus when taking photos. In addition, the space occupied in the phone’s camera module is reduced.

In addition, Xiaomi has introduced its own image processing chip (ISP), called Overvoltage C1. This image processor improves focus, white balance and exposure.

The main sensor is 108 Mpx, the wide angle is 13 Mpx and the telephoto lens is 8 Mpx.

The processor of all models is the Snapdragon 888 and has versions of 12 and 16 GB of RAM and 256 and 512 GB of internal memory.

The battery is 5020 mAh and is compatible with the 67W charging cable that the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra also have.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold has already been announced in China, where it will go on sale soon. We hope to know soon when this device will be launched in Europe.
