JukeXbox is where you can find the soundtracks of Xbox games that the XboxSquad team has tagged. This week, JiTeuBey continues its tour of the music of remedy productions, highlighting (ahem) Alan Wakes.

I’m not going to lie to you, this writer’s adventures will have shaped me for the heavy atmosphere of Bright Falls, but much less for the music. On the contrary, it’s not bad quality, but I have the annoying tendency of not listening enough to have the controller in hand, especially when I’m relentlessly followed by shadows. So I went back to that Petri Alenko soundtrack. So I could see that these few melodies must be engraved in my subconscious because I was projected directly in this little fictional mining town. A place that I immediately associate with the haze, the ghostly threats, the flashlight and the many thermos flasks of coffee!

In addition to the original compositions, we also find pieces from more or less well-known groups. The one for whom there really is an icon Alan WakeIt is unmistakably Poets of the Fall. These Finnish musicians have a special relationship with the development studio. We find them in most of their productions. For today’s game, her title is war was used.

But they also recorded the performance of the virtual group “Old Gods of Asgard” and composed two tracks for the occasion. Children of the Elder God In particular, it has the merit of accompanying a Dantesque game sequence and, in contrast to most of the game, paying more attention to the action. The result is reminiscent of Ozzy Osbourne’s style and is sublimated by some pyrotechnic effects. Well worth the detour. You can also get an idea with the following gameplay excerpt:

For the credits of each episode / chapter, Remedy also relied on the discography of renowned artists such as David Bowie, Roy Orbison, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds and more. But I’m going to deal with a song that is close to my heart and that concludes the second and final DLC of PerfectAlan Wake, entitled The writer. It is The darkest star by the famous British group Depeche Mode, a track that perfectly evokes the atmosphere of the game.

After hearing these few songs, I really want to recreate our favorite author’s story, and I hope I’ve given you the desire to discover (or rediscover) one of the most eye-catching titles of the Xbox 360 era … if it’s you If If you’re curious or want to keep listening, the full soundtrack can be accessed here:
