How to get Windows 10 to monitor performance
To access this application, you must first press and write «Performance Monitoring». The eye so as not to be confused with the device monitor, which is another unique non-related request we will see today.
When the app is open, we have to use the "Monitoring Tools" and click on "Performance Monitor" on the left. This is our favorite part.
How is performance monitoring used?
The use is very simple, but at the same time stressful depending on what we want to see. Let's focus on the right side and skip the left, which we no longer like. Here we can see a graph in the top layer, with a single counter in the bottom that, in this case, shows 7 percent of the processing time. It teaches us, between the means of two surfaces, the final average, the ratio, the minimum and the size, and the time it takes to take an estimate (about the final, depending on the range, that is, the average graph number).
As you can see, this alone gives us far more information than the task manager's tab provides, right?
We'll assume that we have communication problems (in this case it would be the same if for example we saw that SSD was slow, that we had problems with RAM, etc.) and we wanted to see more details about the group's network card. In that case, we will search in «Transformer Network», and by clicking on any of the parameters below, will appear the conditions of the selected object, when we have to select our network card.
Now, we just have to click the "Install >>" button below and it will appear on the right. We can add as many counters as they want, but keep in mind that if we add too much, the graph may be chaotic. Following the example, we want to see what happens to our connection, so we will add compute bandwidths, faulty sent packages, and detected faulty packages.
Click Accept, and it's already added. We'll have to wait a few seconds for the graph to be filled in for details. In the example we set, communication is very efficient, the bandwidth is 100% and the number of errors is zero, so it is straightforward. What we want to see with this is that, for example, if you had problems here you could see them.
As we did with the network card, you can perform the input and output functions of the hard disk, RAM, and processor, and basically any part of the hardware, thus helping you determine what's going on more accurately than you would otherwise.
How to customize the image
Windows 10 performance monitoring, as you might have guessed, is extremely powerful and will allow us to monitor precisely what happens with a PC hardware. However, maybe the graph doesn't tell us much, but luckily we can customize the data. To start with, when we click the third bar button we will have the option of seeing a bar graph instead of rows, but also simply seeing a data report, where it would be fun to add multiple calculators to see many Details at once.
Similarly, by double-clicking on any of the parameters in the bottom area, we can choose its color in the graph, the line's shape and its scale.
You've seen it, the possibilities are numerous, and if you're in the mood for knowing something is wrong but don't know exactly what, Windows 10 performance monitoring can assist you in detecting that problem permanently.
