Outriders doesn’t make things easy for its players right now. After the mixed launch, in which the servers buckled for days and made co-op rounds impossible, the situation seemed to relax. But then patch 1.05 appeared and with it a whole bunch of new bugs and balance problems.
The tone of voice often becomes sharper on social media, the community is obviously losing patience. But there are also those who take the whole thing with a lot of self-irony and humor. We asked around on Reddit, Twitter and Co. and are collecting player votes on Outriders after patch 1.05.
In the detailed test of Outriders, Elena explains why there is a great shooter hidden behind all the technical problems that can entertain you for many hours:

What players think of patch 1.05
To anticipate it right away: Most players rate the update very critically. This is partly because the Technomancer and Trickster classes were toned down shortly after the release. But most of all, many are frustrated that the developers created new problems before the old ones were solved.
Is Reddit Meaningful? Of course, by far not all players are active on Reddit – and critical voices are usually louder than those who are completely satisfied. In the case of Outriders, Reddit actually allows a good overview, because the developers have been active there for a long time and have maintained direct contact with the players without interruption since the demo.
Balancing
About the Changes to the two classes is discussed for example in this thread. Creator BNEWSON particularly criticizes that the trickster is now significantly weaker. Many agree with him in the comments: You can still play the lightning-fast melee assassins reasonably well, but only with certain skills. Before that, you had more freedom in terms of skills.

A user complains in the thread about the new trickster:
“They did us tricksters an injustice. That crap is not cool.”
But there are also dissenting votes, for example the answer from bacon_and_ovaries is as follows:
“As for the bare numbers, yes. But I don’t think the class is dead because of that, it just means you have to adjust. It just means the bullets are no longer OP.”
Not affected by the changes in Update 1.05 is the Demolisher, a tough tank that also does a lot of damage. In our class guide you can find out how to best skill it:

Bugs
Among the numerous known bugs, one in particular causes a lot of horror: A loading error can cause your all equipment disappears, here you can find all information and the current status of the inventory wipe. Many players are therefore afraid of even logging into Outriders – after all, dozens of hours of grind could be lost.
A user with the sounding name PartyHard666 puts it this way:
“Hmmm maybe I’ll go play a little outriders …
* looks at Reddit
Maybe I’d rather do something else … ”

Others take it necessarily with a sense of humor and propose a new tournament mode in which two streamers play against each other until one is affected by the inventory wipe. The suggested name is “Playing with Fire”.

The good news about inventory wipe: The developers are already working on a fix that will hopefully be released soon. Then lost equipment should also come back, but it has not yet been clarified how exactly this will take place.

The developers write in the tweet:
“Just a quick note to assure you that resolving inventory wipe is our number one priority and will remain so until it is fixed. The moment we get a breakthrough, we will let you know right away As a reminder, we aim to restore your progress. “
Compare with Anthem
Again and again frustrated players draw the comparison with the failed loot shooter Anthem, which was recently given up for good because too many players had left because of the big problems. Some fear that Outriders could suffer a similar fate if the developers don’t get the problems under control – and most would regret that, as Outriders is a lot of fun for them in good moments.
The user TitanGear paid a lot of attention to this Post published in which he strongly warns the developers:
“I play as a devastator so the nerfs haven’t hit me in the slightest. What is becoming a problem for me is that you guys are doing the same bad things that Destiny and Anthem did. You are doing the exact opposite of what the majority of your players want. (…) Please really listen. If anyone calls for nerfs, they are in a very small minority. Just check out Reddit, where a large proportion of the players are still clinging to. They want no ill-conceived and hasty nerfs. You use a sledgehammer to fix a crack in the glass. I can’t lose another loot shooter to insensitive developers and executives. I just can’t. Please stop this. “
The fact that the game is not only celebrated with fanfare became apparent immediately after its release: it is either loved or hated on Steam.
