Ubisoft is one of the most successful studios in the entire video game industry. Within his credit there are dozens of licenses that have fans around the world who have fun on the internet or playing alone.
Now we know that Ubisoft announced that it will shut down the servers of several games Tom Clancy at the end of this 2021, so it will not be possible to play it online again when this happens. Among the games that Ubisoft decided to close the servers include Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Rainbow Six Lockdown, Rainbow Six Vegas and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 in their versions for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
These are not the only Ubisoft games that will close their servers, but they are the only ones that do not yet have an official server closure date. Other titles from the French studio that will close the servers on June 1 are Assassin’s Creed 2, Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands, Far Cry 2, Anno 1404, Might & Magic, Clash of Heroes, Splinter Cell Conviction, The Settlers 7 and Might & Magic X.
Renewing efforts within Ubisoft
Some of these titles like Assassin’s Creed 2 do not have multiplayer mode, but s + i will be affected by the closure of the servers. The way they will be affected is that unlockable content already redeemed will not be available within the title. All player news and stats on each of these titles will no longer be available in-game.
The truth is that this type of news is very common within the game industry with titles so old that the studios seek to move to focus on the newest installments of each of their sagas and thus centralize their resources in these games of newer consoles like PS4 and PS5 or PC.
