At yesterday’s Indie World Showcase, numerous new games were announced that will soon be released for the Switch. Including highlights like Oxenfree 2 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Last night, Nintendo launched a new Indie World Showcase featuring numerous independent developer projects that will be coming to Switch in the coming weeks and months. In the event that you missed the presentation or lost the overview, here is an overview of all announcements:
Digixart, the developers behind 11-11: Memories retold are currently working on Road 96, a road trip adventure that will be released later this year.
Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield is a 3D obstacle course runner in a futuristic version of Tokyo, accompanied by a soundtrack penned by Detroit-based musician Danime-Sama. A demo is already available in the eShop. The full version will be released on May 19th.
Annapurna Interactive has two titles up its sleeve: Last Stop (July), a game that tells three closely related stories with a supernatural touch, as well Hindsight (2021), which focuses on a woman’s entire life, from the moment she was born to the present.
It continued with the return of the OlliOlli series. OlliOlli World brings sophisticated two-dimensional skateboard platforming gameplay to the Switch – in winter 2021.
The Longing from the German developer Studio Seufz is now also landing on the Switch. In this quiet game, you have to kill 400 days in real time in a cave to prepare for the return of your king.
The point-and-click comedy adventure is also available immediately There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension
A treat for kids of the 90s is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. The side scrolling beat ’em up was developed in the style of the classic Turtles in Time. Behind the project are the makers of Streets of Rage 4 and Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap. Release is 2021.
Crystals is already a repeat offender at the Indie World Showcase, now the action-RPG should finally land in the eShop on July 20th. A demo is already available.
GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon won’t be released for Switch until next year. This genre mix, known as “Roguevania 2D Action”, impresses above all with its traditional Japanese style.
Aztech: Forgotten Gods links the past and the future. The 3D action adventure tells the story of Akhtli, an Aztec woman who has to fight gigantic, mechanical interpretations of Aztec deities on her way. The publication is planned for autumn.
Skul: The Hero Slayer Turn the tables: In the “skin” of a skeleton you fight your way against hordes of heroes in this rogue lite 2D platformer and use unique abilities by exchanging the protagonist’s head.
Graduated Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals. The sequel of the praised narrative adventure will be released in the course of the year and will link directly to the predecessor.
