Chrome will use QR codes to distribute websites across mobile phones

Chrome, Codes, distribute, mobile, phones, websites

For many years, QR codes have been an easy way to exchange information between the physical and virtual worlds. But recently we see how they are being used to share data between smartphones. For example the work done by other cell phones for sharing a Wifi network key with this system.

Now Google is working on something like Chrome, a way to share links with websites without using other apps and without posting anything.

Share QR codes

Chrome will use QR codes to distribute websites across mobile phones

This function is integrated into a new menu that appears when we want to share something in this app. This way we are able to extract a QR code that someone else can scan to access the website we see.

It is currently available in Chrome Canary, one of the development types, and to use it we need to go to this address:

  • chrome: // flags / # # chrome-share-hub

Once there we have to run the job and restart the browser.

A new way to capture screen

In this same menu we will also have a section called Screenshot, which will be used for web hosting, without having to touch the entire screen. To use it, and also on Canary, we have to:

  • chrome: // flags / # chrome-share-screen

Once that's done, we have to restart the browser. If we do both we can do them one after another and start all over once.

In the meantime it is a test case that in most cases it just didn't work, a common thing since the Canary is an unstable version and with these options are automatically hidden in this section.

However, it is something we would like to see in the stable version of Chrome, making sharing objects using QR codes become a big deal.
