Apple reveals environmental consequences of iPhone 12 charger recall
The company published a report in which we can see the consequences of some of its strategic marketing decisions on the environment. First, the company ensures that its objective is to issue zero carbon emissions by 2030 through the integration of energy efficiency, low carbon designs and renewable electricity.
Apple makes products and packaging from recyclable or renewable materials, they have been doing so for many years. And now, with the removal of chargers from iPhone 12 models, they hope to save 861,000 tonnes of copper, zinc and tin.
On the other hand, by removing the charger from the boxes of its iPhone, the company manages to gain more space in the boxes to be able to put more boxes on the wooden shipping pallets. By reducing the pallets, transport emissions are reduced.
